KAAP transfer set for October By Anna Fry Parsons Sun (KS) March 7, 2008 The Army and Kansas Army Ammunition Plant Local Redevelopment Planning Authority are marking their October calendars. The end of October is the target date for the transfer of the KAAP property to the Local Redevelopment Authority, which is the execution body that will replace the LRPA. Between now and then, the Army and LRPA will be busy. They are finalizing a schedule and sequence of events that bring them to the transfer, LRPA Executive Director Dan Goddard said. Many processes will be going simultaneously. The Army must plan how to close out the mission at the plant. This includes ending the Army's relationship with Day & Zimmermann Inc. as the facility's contract operator and how the Army will move things from the plant it wants to keep. ...
