Arsenal may get massive upgrade National Guard wants to turn facility into big training center By Bob Downing Akron Beacon Journal (OH) March 21, 2008 The Ohio Army National Guard is planning to upgrade the old Ravenna Arsenal into a first-class military training center. Plans call for making $151 million in improvements over the next 25 years at the Ravenna Training and Logistics Site, said Maj. Ed Meade, the base operations supervisor. A new master plan for the 21,418-acre complex near Ravenna in eastern Portage and western Trumbull counties is about half done, Meade told an advisory group at a meeting Wednesday night in Freedom Township. ...
