Community garden a no-grow Precautions taken over nearby asbestos By Adam Goldstein The Aurora Sentinel (CO) March 23, 2008 AURORA - The city's parks and open spaces department announced the closure of the Lowry Community Garden on Friday, March 21, months after asbestos was discovered in a neighboring building during demolition. Despite the closure, officials stressed that no asbestos was detected in the community garden at East 11th Avenue and Dayton Street, which measures less than an acre. Though the city does not own the neighboring building, it owns the garden, which is managed by Denver Urban Gardens. ...
