FBI temporarily closes its shooting range in North Chicago
Attorney suing to shut facility says he found bullets at nearby park

The FBI has temporarily shut down its outdoor shooting range in North 
Chicago because an attorney seeking to have the range closed claimed he 
recently found dozens of spent bullets at a nearby public park, 
government attorneys disclosed Tuesday.

FBI spokesman Ross Rice called the allegation bizarre but confirmed the 
agency ordered all firearm discharges halted for the immediate future.

Meanwhile, the FBI plans to investigate the attorney's claim that 
bullets from the firing range are ricocheting hundreds of yards into the 
nearby park, Rice said.

During a brief hearing Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Chicago, 
attorney Steven Pollack said he had found at least a pound of spent 
bullets and bullet fragments at Foss Park last week.
