Clean up process continues at the former ordnance plant near Mead By DeManda Arkfeld Ashland Gazette (NE) June 27, 2008According to engineer Jason Leibbert, the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) treatment plant became operational on March 24. "It is a pretreatment process to diminish high levels of TCE in water from load line one before it reaches the main treatment plant," Leibbert said. Project manager Natalae Tillman stated that the Army Corps of Engineers was extracting water from load line one that had higher levels of TCE or trichloroethylene. "It is a focus extraction we have operating now," Tillman said. "Extraction well 11 now sends water from the top of the plume to the AOP plant." ...
