Group brings anti-Lennar message to Vallejo

Mare Island's developer was accused of contributing to Vallejo's 
financial troubles by virtue of its troubled parent company during a 
recent Vallejo City Council meeting.

Speakers from the San Francisco-based group Stop Lennar Action Movement, 
arrived in force in June to target Mare Island master developer Lennar 
Mare Island. LMI is a subsidiary of the Lennar Corporation, which is 
also overseeing development in the San Francisco Bayview Hunter's Point 
neighborhood. Group members said Vallejo would continue to face 
financial difficulties in its relationship with a Lennar company and 
said the city should be aware of its "unholy alliance with a rogue company."

Christopher Muhammad, a leader of the anti-Lennar group and a minister 
with the Nation of Islam church, said his purpose at the meeting was to 
make sure the city "knew the company you have entered into contract with."
