home park's water supply
Residents supplied 2 gallons a day Marcel Honoré The Desert Sun (CA) July 24, 2008INDIO - Owners of an Indio mobile home park have until Aug. 18 to present a plan to clean up the park's water supply after its well tested high for levels of a substance found in explosives. State and local environmental officials running tests last month at the La Quinta Ridge Mobile Estates found higher-than-allowed levels of a chemical contaminant, perchlorate, in a well serving some 350 residents. ...The California Department of Health established in October a maximum of 6 parts-per-billion for perchlorate in state water supplies. The recent samples from the Indio mobile home park showed 7 parts per billion. Samples taken as far back as December 2004 showed the equivalent of 6.4 parts per billion of perchlorate. ...
