Otterbein suing over promised cleanup of WWII munitions factory Government gave site to college in 1962 By Jodi Andes THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH (OH) July 25, 2008The Westerville site was home to the factory that assembled ammunition used during World War II, including some of the bombs dropped over Japan. But 63 years after the war ended, the land that housed the former munitions factory still remains contaminated. Enough is enough, say Otterbein College officials.On Tuesday, the college sued the U.S. Department of Defense, saying the government promised the site had been decontaminated when it was given to the school by the government in 1962. The lawsuit demands that the entire site be made safe. ...
