San Antonio leaders develop action plan to protect Camp Bullis San Antonio Business Journal August 1, 2008Local political leaders on Friday unveiled their formal action plan to protect the land surrounding the U.S. Army's Camp Bullis just north of San Antonio from encroaching development. Political leaders are concerned that continued development around the medical field-training complex could lead Department of Defense officials to consider closing Camp Bullis. Such a move could stymie Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) efforts to bring in hundreds of new jobs at Fort Sam Houston. (Camp Bullis functions as an extension of the Army post). Fort Sam Houston is known as the home of Army medicine. The military frequently uses Camp Bullis to train soldiers on how to function in battlefield scenarios. ...
