Feds say Army site poses no apparent health risks

VANCOUVER -- Camp Bonneville, a former military training ground east of Vancouver, does not pose an "apparent public health hazard" to people exposed to past chemical use at the site, a federal agency said Tuesday.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, issued a final public health assessment.

"Exposure to site-related chemicals might have occurred in the past, or may occur in the future," an agency statement says, "but not at levels likely to cause adverse health effects in humans."
