Naval Station Ingleside planning finished
LRA approved two documents sent to agencies

The Ingleside Local Redevelopment Authority ended its job of planning 
the redevelopment of 155 surplus acres of Naval Station Ingleside, with 
its approval of two documents already sent to two federal agencies.

The redevelopment plan and homeless assistance submission for the 
Electromagnetic Roll Facility, as the surplus acres are called, were 
mailed on Wednesday to officials with the Department of Housing and 
Urban Development and the Office of Economic Adjustment, the federal 
agency that oversees communities affected by base closure and 
realignment. The authority's vote Monday was an after-the-fact formality.

Richard Tenga, a project manager for the Office of Economic Adjustment, 
wrote in an e-mail Friday that the authority and its consultants had 
prepared one of the best homeless assistance submission packages he has 
seen.
