City to take over electrical infrastructure By John Huotari The Oak Ridger (TN) February 19, 2009 OAK RIDGE, Tenn. —The U.S. Department of Energy has turned over electric easements near the former K-25 site in west Oak Ridge, allowing the city to take over electrical infrastructure during the next few months, a city official said Wednesday.
...The infrastructure -- electrical lines, poles and transformers -- is "outside the K-25 fence," or outside the main plant area, including along portions of Blair and Bear Creek roads, he said.
"This supplemental agreement marks another milestone in efforts to transfer DOE land and infrastructure in the west end area of Oak Ridge to the community for reuse," said Gerald Boyd, manager of DOE's Oak Ridge Office.
