Arata Nashoba Publishing (MA) May 29, 2009DEVENS -- Jim Fay says that since (Fort) Devens has been good to him and the region, "now's the time to return the favor." The Army veteran and Ayer selectman is a vocal supporter of the proposed rezoning of the seven Vicksburg Square buildings off Buena Vista Street from the present "Innovation & Technology" district to allow for residential use. Most notably, the rezoning proposal would permit multifamily uses for the historic buildings, along with small-scale retail development to service the future homesteaders. Pending Super Town Meeting approval by Harvard, Ayer and Shirley voters on June 8, the project moves to the selection phase to locate a developer whose plans would determine the final mix of condominium ownership or rental opportunities. ...
