Community Disappointed With Bellows Closure Written by Brooks Baehr KGMB 9-TV News (HI) June 2, 2009Bellows Beach in Waimanalo has been closed to the public for the rest of the month of June. Beach goers and campers are not happy, but the Marine Corps said the beach closure for their own good. The Marine Corps said Tuesday it is closing Bellows to protect people and the environment. Bellows is a Marine training area, but most weekends it is opened to the public. Hundreds go there every Saturday and Sunday and as many as 50 camping permits are issued every weekend. ...
