Shaw's waste discussed at meeting By ANNABELLE ROBERTSON Sumter Item (SC) June 10, 2009The state Department of Health and Environmental Control held a public meeting on Monday evening to discuss a proposed permit renewal for Shaw Air Force Base. The meeting, held at Oakland Elementary School and hosted by DHEC, described the regulation of corrective activities for the base, which are the subject of the permit.
