Council hears Camp Bullis land use study By Sig Christenson San Antonio Express-News (TX) June 17, 2009The Camp Bullis Joint Land Use Study appeared headed for approval today after City Council members Wednesday got a briefing on some of its 65 recommendations.
Mayor Julián Castro and the council quietly took in the briefing during a "B" session that set the stage for a vote today. Some asked about the study, but no one objected.
"It think it's been said more than once already that the hard work is going to start after this resolution," Castro said as the JLUS briefing closed.
The $300,000 JLUS, the second such study since 1995, was launched last year after the Army raised concerns about growth around the 27,994-acre range. Its recommendations can be transformed into individual ordinances or ignored. Bexar County approved it earlier this month, while Kendall and Comal counties rejected it.
