Citizens group gets grant to review base cleanup reports By Ed Baker GateHouse News Service/Weymouth News October 6, 2009Weymouth - A citizens group received a federal grant to have a consultant analyze reports about the cleanup of contaminants at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. The 25-members of the newly formed Advocates for Rockland, Abington, Weymouth, and Hingham wants the cleanup reports reviewed by technical advisors. "It is the intent of ARAWH to have the contaminated sites scientific test results reviewed by professionally-trained technical advisors," said group spokesman Dominic Galluzzo in a statement to the News on Oct. 5. "We hope to have a well qualified individual on board at the end of this week," Galluzzo said. He said the ARAWH wants the reports about contamination at the base to be made easier for its members and local residents to understand. ...
