Future Uses For Newport Depot Discussed David Shepherd My Wabash Valley (IN) November 19, 2009The future of the Newport Chemical Depot remains in the air. During a meeting in Clinton, residents heard possible future uses for the property. The current plan sets aside 35-hundred acres for commercial development and 24-hundred acres for natural space. The Telic Corporation previously announced it will use part of the property. That plan promises to create more than 5-hundred jobs. But many residents are concerned that not enough of the existing tall-grass prairies will be preserved. ...
