Group seeks to reduce 'incompatible' uses around Ellsworth

Eliminating or at least reducing "incompatible" development around Ellsworth Air Force Base is one goal of a new group appointed by Gov. Mike Rounds to help ensure the base's future.

The South Dakota Ellsworth Development Authority, created by the state Legislature earlier this year, will hold meetings Monday and Tuesday at the Comfort Inn & Suites convention center in Rapid City to outline its plans and get public comment.

According to a media advisory, the meetings will provide an overview about how the authority hopes to work with local governments and other groups to help:
