Saipan company looking to dismantle mothballed U.S. ships

SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands - The Senate of the Northern Mariana Islands is considering a resolution that expresses support for a company's plan to dispose of decommissioned U.S. Navy ships.

The resolution says Worldwide Salvage Saipan's investment in the project would contribute to the recovery of the U.S. commonwealth's ailing economy.
