Lenny!
I am so frustrated when I see articles like this. There are so many
technologies out there to deal with contaminated soil but they are not
getting to the field. I don't believe it is right for subscribers to sell
their own goods on your website but I will tell you, we have a rapid
innovative remediation technology for cleaning soil contaminated with
explosives and/or solvent plumes in days. It has been tested and validated
by Army HQ for use in-situ and ex-situ in groundwater, soil, reclaimed
underwater munitions and, bulk munitions and range sustainment. As a SB we
have marketed this product to all the right people, all the right
contractors and all the right agencies. It could save DoD millions but they
continue to allow contractors to dig and haul, use open burn/ open
detonation and continue with groundwater monitoring or natural attenuations.
We achieved response complete at a for Army Ammunition Plant with 20% RDX,
HMX, and TNT within two weeks. We neutralize 10 lb batches of bulk
explosives in 20 minutes. We show our product to be effective in
neutralizing Mustard. The hardest thing as a SB technology firm is not
getting your technology recognized (we have recently won a huge award for
that from university scientist). It is getting the technology to the field.

Sorry! I just had to sound off!
Regards!
Cathy

Weymouth: Navy proposes using contaminated soil for air base landfill cap

By John Penny

A proposal by the Navy to use contaminated soil to cap the west gate
landfill at the base has some members of the restoration advisory board
up in arms.

The Navy is proposing to excavate soil near the main gate that's
contaminated with PHA's and pesticides and use it to cap the
contaminated west gate landfill. Several advisory board members
including Weymouth town councilor Michael Smart vehemently oppose the
idea, which is designed to cut costs.

Smart said, "The Navy is talking about cutting costs. I understand why
people are alarmed. It raises questions whether the Navy is still
committed to doing the best clean up or now committed to value
engineering, which to me means making it cheaper, which directly affects
the quality of the clean up."
