PLENARY SESSION and PROJECT-OF-THE-YEAR AWARDS The Symposium & Workshop will commence on Tuesday morning with presentations by distinguished Plenary Session speakers who will discuss emerging environmental challenges facing DoD. Rear Admiral David Titley is Oceanographer and Navigator of the U.S. Navy. Dr. Paul Anastas is Assistant Administrator for EPA's Office of Research and Development. Dr. Robert Costanza is the Gund Professor of Ecological Economics and Director of the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics at the University of Vermont. Also, as part of the Plenary Session, SERDP and ESTCP Principal Investigators who have helped DoD achieve its mission while improving its environmental performance will be honored as the SERDP and ESTCP Project-of-the-Year Awards are announced. EXHIBIT HALL This year's Symposium & Workshop will once again feature the highly successful poster sessions and exhibit booths showcasing technologies and scientific advancements from a variety of environmental research programs. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about ongoing and recently completed SERDP research projects and ESTCP technology demonstrations. Those wishing to be considered to present a poster in the Exhibit Hall must submit an abstract no later than July 30, 2010.
