Water, land contamination remains in Weymouth By Chris Burrell Quincy Patriot Ledger (MA) March 1, 2011WEYMOUTH - A report commissioned by a citizens advocacy group concludes that some of the land and groundwater are still far from safe at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. The former base, a Superfund site, has been undergoing years of cleanup.“The concentrations of contaminants remaining in groundwater far exceed levels that would be safe for drinking water consumption,” the report states.
