Santa Rosa looks to protect Whiting Field by Louis Cooper Pensacola News Journal (FL) July 8, 2011The Santa Rosa County Commission is set to discuss grant applications totaling $400,000 to further protect the mission at Whiting Field Naval Air Base north of Milton. The commission will discuss Florida Defense Infrastructure Grant proposals at its workshop on Monday: -- $200,000 for acquisition of mission-sensitive property adjacent to Whiting Field.
