Mediation over cleanup postponed

A mediation meeting between Salina public entities to further  
negotiations with the U.S. Department of Justice over cleanup of  
contamination at the former Schilling Air Force Base has been moved  
to this fall.

The entities -- city of Salina, Salina Airport Authority, Salina  
School District and Kansas State University at Salina -- earlier  
announced that the meeting with a federal mediator would take place  
this summer.

Salina public entities did not request the change, said Tim Rogers,  
executive director of the airport authority.
