If TCAAP pollution costs soar, Ramsey County says it's covered

Pollution cleanup, a major barrier to the development of the former  
Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant, is well underway.

Ramsey County is spending $28.5 million to buy and clean up  
Minnesota's largest Superfund site from the federal government, a  
move that has prompted some to raise questions about risks to county  
taxpayers from the polluted site.

What if the cleanup costs more than expected? What if additional  
pollution is found in the years ahead?

County officials say the necessary protections against cost overruns  
and future liabilities are in place and the redevelopment of the  
Arden Hills site is moving forward.
