Agreement removes about 230 homes from west Lemoore project

LEMOORE - A residential developer has struck a deal with the Navy  
that would preclude construction of about 230 proposed homes on  
Lemoore’s west side.

Naval Air Station Lemoore, West Hills Community College and developer  
Pharris Lemoore LLC finalized an agreement this month through the  
Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) program.  
The Department of Defense program allows the military to work with  
government and nongovernment organizations to reduce land uses that  
conflict with military needs.

In a press release, Capt. Monty Ashliman, commanding officer at NASL,  
hailed the agreement as a shining example of the REPI program’s intent.
