Howell groundwater contaminated? by Kala Kashmir Asbury Park Press (NJ) February 19, 2016 Homes and businesses near the Naval Weapons Station Earle Fire Training Center could be at risk for contaminants in private well water, according to U.S. Navy officials. The Navy is conducting voluntary water testing for anyone with well water within a half-mile radius of the training center in the direction groundwater flows, said Bill Addison, a spokesman for the weapons station. The station is off Route 33 near Yellowbrook Road in Howell, adjacent to the Monmouth County Fire Academy.
