Camp Minden burn will begin in April

MINDEN, LA  - Project leaders say the Camp Minden burn to destroy about 16 million pounds of M-6 propellant there, will start in April. 
 
The burn chamber is currently installed at Camp Minden.
 
Explosive Service International (ESI) is handling the project. They say it'll take six to seven weeks from now to complete construction for the burn.
 
Project manager, Dean Schellhase, says this is the largest disposal of explosives in the history of the world, to be conducted at one time.
