Air Force to spend $30 million on water cleanup at Pease by Tim Callery WMUR (Manchester, NH) July 29, 2017 NEWINGTON, N.H. - The United States Air Force is spending millions of dollars in the Granite State to clean up contaminated water. Air Force officials say the money will go toward cleaning contaminated groundwater at the former Pease Air Force Base. The area is known as "site 8," where the Air Force discovered contaminated groundwater consisting of perfluorinated compounds.
