Army Corps looking for unexploded war ordnance in Bare Cove Park in Hingham By Carol Britton Meyer Hingham Journal (MA) August 10, 2017 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin a remedial investigation/feasibility study in September to assess potential environmental and human health impacts associated with past use of the former 991-acre Hingham Naval Ammunition Depot comprised of land and water in and surrounding the Weymouth Back River during World Wars I and II. The investigation is the next step following an ACE survey, assessment, and prioritization of all former defense sites. … For the entire article, see http://hingham.wickedlocal.com/news/20170810/army-corps-looking-for-unexploded-war-ordnance-in-bare-cove-park-in-hingham -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center P.O.
