Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council Advancing Environmental Solutions

The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council is thrilled to announce the release of its first three technical PFAS fact sheets:

1. History and Use
2. Regulations, Guidance, and Advisories
3. Naming Conventions and Physical and Chemical Properties

The Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Technical Team has worked diligently to provide reliable, easily understood information about the whole spectrum of PFAS issues. The fact sheets also provide an extensive reference list that will allow readers to get into the details as needed. The fact sheets are living documents and will be updated as more technical and regulatory information becomes available.

The last three fact sheets will be out in December 2017. The team is also working on an in-depth guidance document which will provide a greater understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of PFAS, as well as another fact sheet focused on aqueous film-forming foams (AFFF). The fact sheets are currently being translated into Spanish.
