Victims of Camp Lejeune water contamination share their stories

Last year, GateHouse Media asked Camp Lejeune survivors to tell us their stories about how they believe they were affected by drinking contaminated water on the sprawling Marine base.

Often, the stories came from relatives, telling about how a loved one had died from an ailment linked to the water. Sometimes, they came from a veteran or family member, describing how they had fallen ill.

Many of the stories described entire families stricken with some kind of illness, while others described people who had lived full, healthy lives until a disease linked to their time at Camp Lejeune flared up.

We’ve received more than 150 in all. Here are the stories.
