Flint Hills Regional Council to study contamination, Fort Riley noise by Stephanie Casanova Manhattan Mercury (KS) June 11, 2018 The Flint Hills Regional Council will use $1 million in grant money to clean up contamination and study noise at Fort Riley. Gary Stith, director of the council, told Riley County commissioners Monday the council has received $402,000 from the Department of Defense’s office of economic development. The funds will go toward the Flint Hills/Fort Riley Joint Land Use Study update.
