Pueblo loses an environmental champion: Ross Vincent

Ross Vincent was a soft-spoken genial man, but his determination to protect the public from environmental hazards -- whether it meant smokestack pollution or old mustard-agent weapons -- made him a respected fixture of public life in Pueblo for the past 30 years.

Vincent, the well-known voice of the Sangre de Cristo Group of the Sierra Club, died Saturday night from cancer at a local hospice. He was 75.
