PDA and CLF settle Clean Water lawsuit By Jeff McMenemy Seacoast online January 11, 2019 PORTSMOUTH - The Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) and Pease Development Authority (PDA) have reached an agreement to settle a lawsuit focused on Clean Water Act violations at Pease International Tradeport, CLF officials announced Friday afternoon. David Mullen, the executive director for the Pease Development Authority, confirmed there was a settlement reached but referred all other questions to the N.H. Attorney General’s office. The CLF filed suit against the PDA in 2016 claiming that stormwater runoff from the former Pease Air Force Base was polluting Great Bay and other area streams and brooks. The two sides filed paperwork in U.S. District Court Friday announcing the settlement. “Stormwater pollution is one of the greatest threats to the health of Great Bay,” said Tom Irwin, vice president and director of CLF New Hampshire. “This historic agreement ensures that the Pease Development Authority will be playing by the same rules as communities throughout the Seacoast and will comply with the Clean Water Act. The health and safety of our waters is essential to our communities and our economy. No one has a right to pollute them.” … For the entire article, see https://www.seacoastonline.com/news/20190111/pda-and-clf-settle-clean-water-lawsuit -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center P.O.
