Madison shutting down PFAS-contaminated well while insisting water is safe by STEVEN VERBURG Wisconsin State Journal March 5, 2019 Madison is shutting down a North Side drinking water well that has been contaminated with toxic chemicals from a nearby military base. In announcing the shutdown Monday, the Madison Water Utility repeated the assurance it has made for months — that contamination levels in Well 15 remain under a controversial federal health advisory.
