By Jeff McMenemy Seacoast Online (NH) April 16, 2019 PORTSMOUTH -- The Acting Secretary of Defense pledged to “quickly address the presence of PFOS and PFOA in drinking water that resulted from DOD (Department of Defense) activities.” “The department takes its cleanup responsibility seriously and undertakes these actions in an open and transparent manner,” Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan wrote in a recent letter to U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H. He added in the letter that DOD supports the Environmental Protection Agency “issuing regulatory standards for PFOS and PFOA that help ensure a consistent and nationwide cleanup process. ...
