Meeting dust-up ends blitz of Wurtsmith cleanup advocacy on sour note By Garret Ellison MLive (MI) April 22, 2021 OSCODA, MI — On Tuesday, four members of Congress sent the U.S. Air Force a reprimand for its opaque approach to keeping the local community abreast of cleanup decisions at the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base in northern Michigan. The letter urged a commitment to “meaningful and substantive community engagement with Oscoda stakeholders.” The Air Force may not have gotten the memo.
