Lenny, In reference your CPEO-MEF 2 August 2022 posting reported that the National Park Service partially closed Assateague beach after military munition debris and explosives were found in the area, here is a comment that I would ask you to post and share on the CPEO-MEF site.
Munitions and explosives contamination on public lands and formerly used defense sites present environmental and explosive safety risks can significantly limit public access and redevelopment of such properties.  The explosive hazards and technical challenges increase the cost and time of cleanup.  The below article reports on the successful use of MuniRem "Munirem Environmental – Fast and safe chemical remediation of munitions and other contaminants" as a safe, cost effective, and simple means to cleanup soils and structures contaminated with munitions debris and explosives.
Best regards – Dan Uyesugi, Retired Army Colonel, EOD C: (770)845-5222
P.S. – Please be aware that I do not work for or represent MuniRem Environmental.
