Dear Friend:

As you know, I have been working on a new book, Threat Multiplier: Climate, Military Leadership, and the Fight for Global Security and I’m happy to announce that it is finally available!

With it, I go inside the Pentagon and onto the battlefield to show how the US military is confronting one of the biggest security risks in global history: climate change. It distills the more than thirty years of my work educating a generation of US military and government officials about the links between climate change and security. It is a global journey where I show how the US military has transformed into a clean energy and climate leader, recognizing that a warming world exacerbates every threat.

I’ll be doing events across the country including in DC at the Atlantic Council with Ali Rogin from PBS Newshour on 9/9 and the Woodrow Wilson Center on 10/1, then in Boston at the Harvard Kennedy School on 9/16, and others. You’ll find a list here.

If you’d like to purchase a copy from Island Press, use the code THREAT, which is good for a 20% discount. You can also order it from AmazonBarnes and Noble, and your local independent bookseller.

I hope you will consider sharing the book with your own networks. You can help in a few ways:

·       Forward this message to your own contacts or share the news on your social media networks. Feel free to include the discount code, THREAT.
·       If you’d like to review it for a publication or website, you can request a review copy from press@islandpress.org.
·       Connect Jen Hawse (jhawse@islandpress.org) with relevant organizations that may be interested in having me speak and receiving a discounted bulk purchase of up to 55%.
·       Direct professors who might be interested in adopting the book to islandpress.org/request-exam-copy to request an exam copy.
·       Review the book on Goodreads, Amazon and/or another review sites.

If you have any questions or ideas for how to use the book in your own work, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.  I hope you enjoy the book.

With gratitude,

Sherri Goodman
