| Sherri Goodman Secretary General of the International Military Council on Climate & Security and Senior Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars |
| | | Sherri Goodman has been a leader in environmental, energy, and climate security since she served as the first Deputy Undersecretary of Defense (Environmental Security). Goodman’s new book, Threat Multiplier, takes us onto the battlefield and inside the Pentagon to show how the US military is confronting climate change. She is credited with educating a generation of U.S. military and government officials about the nexus between climate change and national security, using her famous coinage, “threat multiplier,” to fundamentally reshape this field. Goodman’s expertise makes her uniquely positioned to answer today’s most pressing questions about climate change and national security: how military leaders’ thinking has evolved, what are their contingency plans, and where do they see conflict coming next. |
