Joint Base Cape Cod Cleanup Team (JBCCCT) is Holding a Virtual Meeting 6–8 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2024 The Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) and the Impact Area Groundwater Study Program (IAGWSP) at Joint Base Cape Cod (JBCC) are hosting an online public meeting of the JBCCCT on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, 6–8 p.m. The public is invited to attend the meeting with representatives from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. Public Comment Period Scheduled on Draft Decision Document Nov. 1–30, 2024 AFCEC will present the Draft Final Decision Document No Further Response Action Planned (NFRAP) Rifle Range and No Further Action Area Munitions Response Sites (MRS) at the Otis Gun Club Munitions Response Area. This will be followed by a public hearing to solicit public comment on the Draft Final Decision Document. A program lookahead by the IAGWSP will be given. Additional AFCEC agenda items include program effects due to a new USEPA PFAS drinking water standard; an update on PFAS source and groundwater plume investigations since the July JBCCCT meeting; and a brief update on AFCEC’s now finalized Community Involvement Plan. The meeting presentations and agenda will be posted to the following links by Nov. 13: A 30-day public comment period will be held November 1–30, 2024, on the Draft Final Decision Document NFRAP Rifle Range and No Further Action Area MRS at the Otis Gun Club Munitions Response Area. Based on the conditions at the Rifle Range MRS and the No Further Action Area MRS, AFCEC has determined: (1) there is no evidence of materials of explosive concern or munitions constituents; (2) there is no present risk to human health or the environment. Therefore, a no further action decision is appropriate under CERCLA and the Rifle Range MRS and the No Further Action Area MRS can be classified as NFRAP.
