Residents near former Camp Robinson may face temporary evacuations during investigation

LITTLE ROCK — A public notice has been issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to engage in investigations and remediation centered around Camp Robinson.

Set to begin on January 2025, the widespread assessment is made possible by the Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) program.

According to a release, potential risks from munitions, explosives, and environmental contaminants will be assessed at the former Camp Robinson, stationed in Pulaski and Faulkner counties in Arkansas.

If any unexploded ordnance or munitions material is found as investigations progress, they will be safely taken away from the premises or detonated. Those who reside in the impacted areas will be evacuated for a short period if a detonation needs to take place.
