Brownfields Prevention Workshop
Co-sponsored by the Carnegie-Mellon
Brownfields Center and Vita Nuova
Monday, September 13 -- 5:00 - 9:00 pm
The Brownfields Prevention Workshop, a facilitated workshop forum,
will meet in conjunction with the ISRC ‘99 at the Engineers’ Society
of Western Pennsylvania building. To attend this workshop,
participants must submit this form with the workshop registration
payment — forum fees are not included in the conference registration.
Brownfields and Sustainable Development have not been considered
together before and yet, preventing the economic and social
disintegration surrounding Brownfields can only be accomplished
by building sustainable development principles into the redevelopment
process.
This unique gathering will feature comments by leading thinkers from
the fields of architecture, urban planning, environmental science, law,
and development. However, those in attendance will be spending the
majority of the time working together with colleagues from across
the US to develop an outline for a white paper on Brownfields
Prevention to be published through the Partnership for Sustainable
Brownfields Redevelopment.
