Dear RECA Folks,

I ask that you please set aside a bit of your time to go to our Ohio/ Uniontown IEL's CCLT's website,  starksummit.org  -  to then locate under "reports", obtain this important " Coal Ash" Report.   While I fully appreciate that RECA focus has been to obtain a semblance of justice for our Manhattan Project Victims,  I also believe in my heart , that you all, as radiation exposed victims like me, truly, from what we all do understand how devastating radiation exposure is, full stop. - whatever the source.   To this point:  Our amazing "fracking" activists around the nation have for over a decade now, heroically -  (like you all...but for many decades) ....these wonderful , caring citizens also " fight the good fight" -  to call attention to the very deadly radium contained within Oil and Gas "frac" waste streams.  Since 2011, I have attempted to share our Uniontown IEL corrupted radiation testing story with these activists as well.....

Coal Ash/Flyash is yet another way our American children are potentially being exposed to deadly radium..

In Solidarity,

Chris from OH, Uniontown IEL Superfund SIte...

Hello EIP,

While we greatly appreciate your org.'s latest effort on this important issue,  I need to ask:

Please tell us why you failed to include radium in your listing of contaminants concerning flyash/coal ash?  Radium is one of the most deadly substances known to man because it is "bone seeking".  Therefore, it would seem that EIP including radium in your appeal would be extremely important.

Dr. Julie W. and I spent an entire summer working on a prior national Coal Ash Report several years ago with EIP, EJ and Sierra Club.  At that time, we did manage to get the collaborative to include radium then.

Our Superfund Site, Uniontown IEL in NE Ohio has many tons of flyash,  and Dr. Rice was diligent to raise the radium aspect re. the flyash/coal ash whenever she could!

Thank you,

Chris Borello, spokeswoman for Concerned Citizens of Lake Twp.

NOTE:  Incase you didn't see the final report, please go to our website:  starksummit.org   = under reports.    The report also indicated our landfill had the highest or among the highest readings offsite for Chromium in the entire nation.   Infact, Chromium was central to the point of the coalash report, ( but this isn't listed as well)?

Perhaps you are new to EIP?

More than 2,000 coal-ash waste dumps across the U.S. are slowly leaking lead, arsenic, mercury, and other toxic metals into our underground water supplies. Under the Obama Administration, in 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency imposed the nation’s first-ever federal rules for controlling coal ash pollution. But now, the Trump Administration is trying to gut these rules and exempt old ash landfills from cleanup requirements. Environmental groups are pushing back. We talk about this with Abel Russ, Director of law and policy at the Environmental Integrity Project and a coal ash expert.
