The SPEs have been coordinating closely with KDHE leadership, including a July 2026 meeting in Topeka with KDHE Secretary Janet Stanek and senior staff, to support timely completion of that review. KDHE has indicated the analysis is expected by October 2026. Public health remains the SPEs' top priority throughout this temporary delay. Since the Corrective Action Decision was issued in 2019, the SPEs have consistently monitored the groundwater and air quality at and around the site. The most recent monitoring event occurred in August 2026.
