[CPEO-BIF] Bipartisan Senate Brownfields Bill

The 52-page current text of the Brownfields Revitalization and
Environmental Restoration Act of 2000 S. 2700, introduced on June 8,
2000 by Senators Chafee (R-Rhode Island), Lautenberg (D-New Jersey), Bob
Smith (R-New Hampshire), and Baucus (D-Montana), is available as a 210K
PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file from http://www.senate.gov/~epw/s2700.pdf.

Rumor is that the committee may begin mark-up of the legislation as
early as next week (the week of June 19, 2000). Since the current
language is based upon the agreement of both parties' leaders on these
issues, it's possible - even likely - that the Senate will pass the bill
this summer.
