NJ CONFERENCE ON NEIGHBORHOODS AND SMART GROWTH: FEB. 23rd IN NEW BRUNSWICK


The Coalition for Affordable Housing and the Environment (CAHE) and the
National Neighborhood Coalition (NNC) are jointly sponsoring a forum on
February 23, 2001 to discuss the potential benefits that smart growth
can bring to lower-income communities in New Jersey, and the importance of 
community involvement in regional decision-making. Find out how you can 
make smart growth work for your neighborhood, and how to get involved in 
decisions related to planning, growth and development in New Jersey.

Randy Primas, former Mayor of Camden and Commissioner of the NJ
Department of Community Affairs, will deliver the keynote address. There
will be a panel discussion on what smart growth can offer NJ communities, 
and break-out sessions on affordable housing and economic development, 
transportation, public schools, and the urban environment.  The conference 
will conclude with a discussion of next steps that participants can take.

When: Friday February 23, 2001, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Where: Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Rutgers
University, New Brunswick, NJ
