Under the legislation, developers would not be required to clean old sites completely before reusing them. They would only have to demonstrate that they've contained the pollution so it's no longer a threat. Under current state law, redeveloping an industrial site means cleaning or containing pollution that remains on the land or in the building. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To read CPEO's archived Brownfields messages visit http://www.cpeo.org/lists/brownfields If this email has been forwarded to you and you'd like to subscribe, please send a message to cpeo-brownfields-subscribe@igc.topica.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ____________________________________________________________ T O P I C A -- Learn More.
